Rockstar Games The Warriors for the PSP

PSP users that crave some heavy-duty action will be happy to know that Rockstar Games has announced The Warriors exclusively for the PSP System. It is based on the 1979 iconic same titled Paramount Pictures film and just like the movie, the game is also set in 1970’s New York City. There is already a PS2 version in the market and now Rockstar hopes to achieve the same kind of success with the PSP version. No word on pricing or availability and for more info head over to here.“We set out to create a highly sophisticated portable game that delivers a visceral experience previously unseen on the PSP system,” stated Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games. “We are looking forward to setting the definitive bar for the brawler genre on the PSP system by delivering an extremely stylish and exceptionally deep experience.”
“We have worked closely with Rockstar Toronto to maintain the extremely high standards they’ve set for this game,” said Gordon Hall, President of Rockstar Leeds. “The PSP system allows us to deliver the experience in an entirely different way, while staying very faithful to the original source material and maintaining the high standards we set for ourselves as a developer.”

LocoRoco Rolls Onto the PSP (PlayStation Portable) System

Sony’s critically acclaimed Loco Roco is now available to the American public! This new game has been released exclusively for the PSP system and was first noticed at the 2006 E3 where it added a number of awards in its kitty.
Loco Roco is a fascinating 2D platform/action game where the players have complete control and the imagery has been inspired by director’s Tsutomu Kouno vision who is known for his fascination with oil and water in classic toys. Thus the players will come across some stunning and surreal imagery which constitutes slippery slopes, ropes and secret passages which also “grow, divide, sing, change shape, and overcome obstacles.”
The new PSP game takes off when the beautiful city of Loco Roco is attacked by diabolical aliens the Moja Corps who want to take the beautiful city back home! The inhabitants to protect their beloved city must move the city to safety! Sounds exciting doesn’t it? Other features include; three mini-games, wireless gaming and the customizable playhouse called LocoHouse. For more info visit Sony http://www.playstation.com/

Gangs of London PSP Game

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that the North American release of Gangs of London will only be available for the Sony Play Station Portable (PSP) system.
The game itself is similar to the ever-popular Vice City. In Gangs of London, you can go through several missions to take you throughout modern-day London’s criminal underworld. The game is wisely rated M, for it uses gritty narratives along with graphic-novel style graphics that make it look like a full-color version of Frank Miller’s Sin City. Gamers can play single, or war with other PSP players.
The games features several modes of play. One of them is Story Mode, where you can choose a gang you want to lead and then go on missions in order to take over the Queen’s captial. Players can then engage in Gang Battle mode, which uses an interactive map as well as criminal strategies in order to defend or take more turf. There are many other surprises in the seven Free Roaming Modes which allow you to explore 25 miles of virtual London within the game. These modes allow a player a game with specific goals, and even allow mini-games like pub pool and darts.
Another interesting feature is that PSP Game Share will kick in to generate a new level that is unique to every PSP user. Players in this mode will have new missions, environments, characters, and even weaponry.
It sounds like Sony is predicting that Gangs of London will be quite a hit, and is obviously targeted toward those who are better off waging virtual turf wars then real ones. However, I can’t help but wonder why this is just being targeted toward the PSP. A game like this should be for the PlayStation 2, and maybe a cooler version for the PlayStation 3 when it finally comes out. Is this just a way to increase PSP sales in order to beat the rising sales of the Nintendo DS Lite? I wonder.
